HUMILITY--Cancellation of All Services
Brothers and Sisters,
I have avoided this decision with all of my heart, mind, soul and strength. However, I no longer feel it is safe for us to gather in person to worship if we truly believe our goal to be that NOBODY is to get sick by coming to church. So all services are canceled tomorrow, December 6th. My reasons for coming to this decision are too complex to explain at this time. It is humbling to change directions from what I publicly stated less than 48 hours ago. But in Isaiah 57:15 God tells us "I dwell... with the contrite and humble of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite."
Revival--God's life implanted and expressed in our lives--is what we need as the people of St Peter the Fisherman. Revival is what we need in our marriages, families, communities, nation and world. Revival is what the Body of Christ, the Church universal, the Bride of Christ world-wide is in desperate need. So, I embrace my need for humility and contrition--I freely confess I do not know what I am doing unless God directs my every step--because in doing so God gives revival.
Until now we have not attempted to create a virtual church experience. That will have to change. I will be contacting each of you over the coming week to ensure everyone will be able to participate in whatever we develop. So plan to come together on the 3rd Sunday of Advent, December 13th, via your computer, tablet or smartphone. If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call.
God bless each of you for your faithfulness, your prayers and your love.
